The aldehyde dehydrogenases are a family of isozymes that may play a major role in the detoxification of aldehydes generated by alcohol metabolism and lipid peroxidation.
This particular gene spans about 20 kb of genomic DNA and is composed of 9 coding exons.
The gene is highly expressed in kidney and lung.
The functional significance of this gene as well as the cellular localization of its product are presently unknown.
Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
Applications:Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry.
Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:Western Blot: 1:200-1:1000Immunohistochemistry: 1:25-1:100Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Store at -20°C.
Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
