Paired box gene 8, also known as PAX8, is a protein which in humans is encoded by the PAX8 gene.
This gene encodes a member of the paired box (PAX) family of transcription factors.
Members of this gene family typically encode proteins that contain a paired box domain, an octapeptide, and a paired-type homeodomain.
This nuclear protein is involved in thyroid follicular cell development and expression of thyroid-specific genes.
Mutations in this gene have been associated with thyroid dysgenesis, thyroid follicular carcinomas and atypical follicular thyroid adenomas.
Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described.
Applications:Suitable for use in Western Blot.
Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:Western Blot: 0.1-0.5ug/mlOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C.
Stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C.
Reconstitute with sterile dH2O.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Store at -20°C.
Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
