Intelectin-1, also known as omentin, is an intelectin encoded in humans by the ITLN1 gene.
This gene is mapped to chromosome 1q21.3-q22 by genomic sequence analysis.
It is expressed on multiple cell types and appears to participate in insulin signaling and microbe recognition.
Intelectin-1 functions both as a receptor for bacterial arabinogalactans and for lactoferrin.
Having conserved ligand binding site residues, both human and mouse intelectin-1 bind the exocyclic vicinal diol of carbohydrate ligands such as galactofuranose.
Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry.
Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:Western Blot: 0.1-0.5ug/mlImmunohistochemistry (paraffin): 0.5-1ug/mlOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C.
Stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C.
Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Store at -20°C.
Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
