Interferons (IFNs) are proteins made and released by lymphocytes in response to the presence of pathogens-such as viruses, bacteria, or parasites-or tumor cells.
They allow communication between cells to trigger the protective defenses of the immune system that eradicate pathogens or tumors.
Applications:Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot.
Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:ELISA: 1:100Western Blot: 1:500 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Biological Activity:In an antiviral assay for interferon about 1unit/ml of interferon is the quantity necessary to produce a cytopathic effect of 50%.
Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Store at -20°C.
Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
