Glutamate dehydrogenase is an enzyme, present in most microbes and the mitochondria of eukaryotes, as are some of the other enzymes required for urea synthesis, that converts glutamate to alpha-Ketoglutarate, and vice versa.
In animals, the produced ammonia is, however, usually bled off to the urea cycle.
In bacteria, the ammonia is assimilated to amino acids via glutamate and amidotransferases.
Applications:Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot and Immunoprecipitation.
Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:ELISA: 1:5000-1:20,000Western Blot: 1:500-1:5000Immunoprecipitation: 1:100Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Store at -20°C.
Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
