Biotin is a water-soluble B-complex vitamin (vitamin B7) that is composed of a ureido (tetrahydroimidizalone) ring fused with a tetrahydrothiophene ring.
A valeric acid substituent is attached to one of the carbon atoms of the tetrahydrothiophene ring.
Biotin is a coenzyme in the metabolism of fatty acids and leucine, and it plays a role in gluconeogenesis.
Applications:Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot.
Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:ELISA: 1:100,000-1:500,000Western Blot: 1:1,000,000-1:500,000Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Store at -20°C.
Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
