• TGES2 catalyzes the conversion of prostaglandin H2 to prostaglandin E2 (Tanikawa et al).
• It also activates transcription from a gamma-interferon (IFNG)-activated transcriptional element, or GATE.
• Tanikawa et al.
• (2002) identified monkey and human cDNAs encoding proteins homologous to Ptges2 purified from the microsomal fraction of bovine heart.
• The monkey and human cDNAs encode 377aa proteins that share 97% identity.
• Both proteins have 87 additional N-terminal aa compared with the purified bovine Ptges2, and they both have a consensus region shared with glutaredoxin and thioredoxin.
• Hu et al.
• (2002) cloned mouse Ptges2, which they designated Gbf1.
• The deduced protein contains 384aa and has a calculated molecular mass of about 38kD.
• Applications:Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry, Immunocytochemistry.
