• The deduced 594aa POTE15B protein has a calculated molecular mass of 67.1kD.
• Compared with POTE14A, POTE14B has extra sequence within the ankyrin repeat region.
• The deduced 487aa POTE14C protein has a calculated molecular mass of 54.6kD.
• Compared with POTE14A, POTE14C has a C-terminal truncation.
• In vitro transcription and translation of the POTE14 variants resulted in proteins with molecular masses in agreement with their calculated masses.
• By partially sequencing clones obtained from prostate and testis cDNA libraries, they determined that the POTE14 gene is transcribed.
