Lysophosphatidylcholine (LPC) acyltransferase (LPCAT) catalyzes the conversion of LPC to phosphatidylcholine (PC) in the remodeling pathway of PC biosynthesis deduced 534aa mouse and human proteins contain 3 transmembrane domains, several motifs conserved in members of the LPCAT family, a putative EF hand domain, and a C-terminal endoplasmic reticulum (ER) retention signal.
They share about 88% aa identity.
Real-time RT-PCR of mouse tissues showed that Lpcat1 was expressed at highest levels in lung, followed by spleen and brain.
Other tissues had low Lpcat1 levels.
Confocal microscopy detected epitope-tagged Lpcat1 mainly in the ER and Golgi of transfected cells.
Applications:Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry, Immunocytochemistry.
Other applications not tested.
