Lysyl oxidase homolog 2 is encodes a member of the lysyl oxidase gene family.
The prototypic member of the family is essential to the biogenesis of connective tissue, encoding an extracellular copper-dependent amine oxidase that catalyses the first step in the formation of crosslinks in collagens and elastin.
A highly conserved aa sequence at the C-terminal end appears to be sufficient for amine oxidase activity, suggesting that each family member may retain this function.
The N-terminal is poorly conserved and may impart additional roles in developmental regulation, senescence, tumor suppression, cell growth control, and chemotaxis to each member of the family.
Expressed in many tissues.
Highest expression in reproductive tissues, placenta, uterus and prostate.
Applications:Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry and Immunocytochemistry.
Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilutions:Western Blot: 0.5-2ug/ml Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin): 5-20ug/mlImmunocytochemistry: 5-20ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Store at -20°C.
Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
