Leucine-rich repeat transmembrane protein FLRT2 is a member of the fibronectin leucine rich transmembrane protein (FLRT) family.
FLRT family members may function in cell adhesion and/or receptor signalling.
Their protein structures resemble small leucine-rich proteoglycans found in the extracellular matrix.
The full-length FLRT2 coding sequence encodes a predicted 660aa protein containing a putative N-terminal signal sequence, 10 leucine-rich repeats (LRRs) flanked by N- and C-terminal cysteine-rich regions, a fibronectin-/collagen-like domain, a transmembrane domain, and an intracellular C-terminal tail.
FLRT2 has 5 potential N-glycosylation sites in its extracellular region.
FLRT2 shares 44% aa sequence identity with FLRT3 and 41% identity with FLRT1.
