CHL1 is a member of the L1 gene family of neural cell adhesion molecules.
It is a neural recognition molecule that may be involved in signal transduction pathways.
The deletion of one copy of this gene may be responsible for mental defects in patients with 3p- syndrome.
Several alternatively spliced transcript variants of this gene have been described, but their full length nature is not known.
The predicted CALL protein contains 1,224aa and has a calculated molecular mass of 136 kD.
It has a signal peptide, followed by 6 immunoglobulin (Ig) domains, 4 fibronectintype III (FNIII) domains, a single-pass transmembrane peptide, and a 105aa cytoplasmic domain.
The cytoplasmic domain of CALL is conserved among other members of the L1 subfamily and features sequence motifs that may involve CALL in signal transduction pathways.
Applications:Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry, Immunocytochemistry.
Other applications not tested.

Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Store at -20°C.
Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
