Chromogranin A (CgA) is a glycoprotein found in neuroendocrine cells and may be useful as a tumor marker for neuroendocrine tumors.
Elevated circulating chromogranin A (CgA) levels are found in neuroendocrine tumors (NETs), but the diagnostic usefulness of this marker is still debatable.
Research demonstrates that higher CgA levels associate with metastatic disease, confirming that CgA levels can provide a helpful practical biochemical marker for the clinical management of NETs, but with low sensitivity and specificity
Human chromogranin A is 439aa protein with a molecular weight of 49 kilodalton.
It is a secretory protein that is produced by the dense-core vesicles of neuroendocrine cells.
Applications:Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry, Immunocytochemistry.
Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:ELISA: 1:100-1:5000 Western Blot: 1:50-400 Immunohistochemistry (frozen): 1:50-500 Immunohistochemistry (paraffin): 1:10-100Immunocytochemistry: 1:50-500 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Store at -20°C.
Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
