Antizyme inhibitor 1, also known as AZIN1, Ornithine decarboxylase (ODC) catalyzes the conversion of ornithine to putrescine in the first and apparently rate-limiting step in polyamine biosynthesis.
Ornithine decarboxylase antizymes play a role in the regulation of polyamine synthesis by binding to and inhibiting ornithine decarboxylase
Antizyme inhibitor 1 is a protein encoded by this gene is highly similar to ODC.
It binds to ODC antizyme and stabilizes ODC, thus inhibiting antizyme-mediated ODC degradation.
Two alternatively spliced transcript variants have been found for this gene.
Applications:Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry, Immunocytochemistry.
Other applications not tested.

Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Store at -20°C.
Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
