It is an adapter protein that interacts with the Alzheimer's disease amyloid precursor protein.
This gene product is believed to be involved in signal transduction processes.

Alzheimer disease (AD) is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder that is characterized by dementia, neuronal loss, and accumulation in the brain of extracellular beta-amyloid fibrils and intraneuronal neurofibrillary tangles.
The major components of amyloid plaques are 40- to 42aa beta-amyloid peptides (A-beta), which are derived from beta-amyloid precursor protein (APP) via proteolytic processing.
Applications:Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry, Immunocytochemistry.
Other applications not tested.
