ADAM17 is a 70kD enzyme that belongs to the ADAM protein family of disintegrins and metalloproteases.
ADAM17 is understood to be involved in the processing of tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-alpha) at the surface of the cell, and from within the intracellular membranes of the trans-Golgi network.
This process, which is also known as 'shedding', involves the cleavage and release of a soluble ectodomain from membrane-bound pro-proteins (such as pro-TNF-alpha), and is of known physiological importance
ADAM17 was the first 'sheddase' to be identified, and is also understood to play a role in the release of a diverse variety of membrane-anchored cytokines, cell adhesion molecules, receptors, ligands, and enzymes.
Applications:Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry, Immunocytochemistry.
Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:ELISA: 1:100-1:5000 Western Blot: 1:50-400 Immunohistochemistry (frozen): 1:50-500 Immunohistochemistry (paraffin): 1:10-100Immunocytochemistry: 1:50-500 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Store at -20°C.
Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
