A total of three members of the TGFbeta family, TGFbeta1, TGFbeta2 and TGFbeta3, have been identified in mammals.
Each is synthesized as a latent precursor that is subsequently cleaved forming the 112aa growth factor which becomes active upon dimerization.
TGFbetas mediate their activity by high affinity binding to the type II receptor (TGFbeta RII) transmembrane protein with a cytoplasmic serine-threonine kinase domain.
TGFbeta RII (TGF-beta receptor type-2), also known as TGFBR2, is a 567aa single-pass type I membrane protein that contains one protein kinase domain and is a member of the protein kinase superfamily, TKL Ser/Thr protein kinase family and TGFB receptor subfamily.
For signaling growth inhibition and early gene responses, TGFbeta RII requires both its kinase activity and association with a TGFbeta- binding protein, designated the type I receptor.
TGFbeta RII exists as two alternatively spliced isoforms that are encoded by a gene that maps to human chromosome 3.
Applications:Suitable for use in Western Blot.

Recommended Dilution:Western Blot: 1:500-1:1000Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Store at -20°C.
Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
