The Ca2+/calmodulin-dependent protein kinases (CaMKs) comprise a structurally related subfamily of serine/threonine kinases.
CaMKIg (calcium/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase Ig), also known as VWS1 or CLICKIII, is a 476aa protein that localizes to both the cytoplasm and to the membrane of the Golgi apparatus and contains one protein kinase domain.
Expressed predominately in brain and present at lower levels in spleen, liver, kidney and skeletal muscle, CaMKIg functions as a Ca2+/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase that uses ATP to catalyze the phosphorylation of target proteins, such as the transcription factpr CREB-1.
CaMKIg exists as multiple alternatively spliced isoforms and is encoded by a gene which maps to human chromosome 1.
Applications:Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry.

Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Store at -20°C.
Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
