PROM1 is a pentaspan transmembrane glycoprotein that localizes to membrane protrusions and is often expressed on adult stem cells, where it is thought to function in maintaining stem cell properties by suppressing differentiation (1).
Mutations in this gene have been shown to result in retinitis pigmentosa (2).
Expression of this gene is also associated with several types of cancer (3).
Applications:Suitable for use in Immunofluorescence, ELISA, Western Blot and Immunocytochemistry.
Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:Immunofluorescence: 20ug/mlWestern Blot: 1-2ug/ml Immunocytochemistry: 2.5ug/mlOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Store at -20°C.
Aliquots are stable for 12 months.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
