The Gap junction beta-2 protein (GJB2), also known as Connexin 26, is member of the gap junction protein family which form structures that were shown to consist of cell-to-cell channels that facilitate the transfer of ions and small molecules between cells (1).
Mutations in the GJB2 gene are thought to be responsible for as much as 35-45% of congenital sensorineural hearing loss in some populations (2).
Other mutations in this gene have also been linked to a wide array of skin diseases (3).
Applications:Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot.

Recommended Dilution:Western Blot: 1-2ug/mlOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Store at -20°C.
Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
