Na+-taurocholate cotransporting polypeptide (NTCP), also known as SLC10A1 (Solute carrier family 10, member 1), is the major bile acid uptake system in human hepatocytes.
NTCP and the ileal transporter ASBT (apical sodium-dependent bile acid transporter) are two sodium- dependent transporters critical for the enterohepatic circulation of bile acids.
The hASBT gene is known to be activated by the glucocorticoid receptor (GR).

indicates functionally important polymorphisms in NTCP exist and that the likelihood of being carriers of such polymorphisms is dependent on ethnicity.
Applications:Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry, Flow Cytometry, Immunofluorescence and Immunocytochemistry.
Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilutions:Western Blot: 0.1-0.5ug/mlImmunohistochemistry (Paraffin): 0.5-1ug/ml, boiling the paraffin sections in 10mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0, for 20 mins is required for the staining of formalin/paraffin sections
Immunocytochemistry: 0.5-1ug/mlFlow Cytometry: 1-3ug/1x10e6 cellsImmunoflourescence: 2ug/mlOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C.
Reconstitute with sterile dH2O.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Store at -20°C.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
