• Mesothelin, also known as MSLN or MPF, is a protein that in humans is encoded by the MSLN gene.
• This gene is mapped to 16p13.3.
• This gene encodes a precursor protein that is cleaved into two products, megakaryocyte potentiating factor and mesothelin.
• Megakaryocyte potentiation factor functions as a cytokine that can stimulate colony formation in bone marrow megakaryocytes.
• Mesothelian is a glycosylphosphatidylinositol- anchored cell-surface protein that may function as a cell adhesion protein.
• This protein is overexpressed in epithelial mesotheliomas, ovarian cancers and in specific squamous cell carcinomas.
• Applications:Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry.
• Other applications not tested.
• Recommended Dilutions:Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin): 0.5-1ug/ml.
• Boiling the paraffin sections in 10mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0, for 20 minutes is required for the staining of formalin/paraffin sections
• Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
• Storage and Stability:Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C.
• Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O.
• Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
• Store at -20°C.
• For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
• Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
