Histidine-rich glycoprotein (HRG) is a protein that in humans is encoded by the HRG gene.
It is mapped to 3q27.3.
HRG contains two cystatin-like domains and is located in plasma and platelets.
The protein can bind heme, dyes and divalent metal ions.
It also can inhibit rosette formation and interacts with heparin, thrombospondin and plasminogen.
Two of the protein's effects, the inhibition of fibrinolysis and the reduction of inhibition of coagulation, indicate a potential prothrombotic effect.
Mutations in this gene lead to thrombophilia due to abnormal histidine-rich glycoprotein levels.
HRG is thought to have multiple roles as a protein in the human blood, including roles in immunity, angiogenesis and coagulation.
Applications:Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry.
Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:Western Blot: 0.1-0.5ug/mlImmunohistochemistry (paraffin): 0.5-1ug/mlOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C.
Stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C.
Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Store at -20°C.
Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
