Converts arachidonate to prostaglandin H2 (PGH2), a committed step in prostanoid synthesis.
Involved in the constitutive production of prostanoids in particular in the stomach and platelets.
In gastric epithelial cells, it is a key step in the generation of prostaglandins, such as prostaglandin E2 (PGE2), which plays an important role in cytoprotection.
In platelets, it is involved in the generation of thromboxane A2 (TXA2), which promotes platelet activation and aggregation, vasoconstriction and proliferation of vascular smooth muscle cells.
Applications:Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry.
Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:Western Blot: 1:500-1:3000Immunohistochemistry: 1:50-1:100Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Store at -20°C.
Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
