The protein encoded by this gene is an isozyme of very long-chain acyl-CoA synthetase (VLCS).
It is capable of activating very long-chain fatty-acids containing 24- and 26-carbons.
It is expressed in liver and associated with endoplasmic reticulum but not with peroxisomes.
Its primary role is in fatty acid elongation or complex lipid synthesis rather than in degradation.
This gene has a mouse ortholog.
Applications:Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry.
Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:ELISA: 1:1000-1:2000Western Blot: 1:200-1:1000Immunohistochemistry: 1:25-1:100Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Store at -20°C.
Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
