This gene encodes a sialoglycoprotein that is expressed on mature granulocytes and in many B cells.
The encoded protein is anchored via a glycosyl phosphatidylinositol (GPI) link to the cell surface.
Modulates B-cell activation responses.
Signaling could be triggered by the binding of a lectin-like ligand to the CD24 carbohydrates, and transduced by the release of second messengers derived from the GPI-anchor.
Promotes AG-dependent proliferation of B-cells, and prevents their terminal differentiation into antibody-forming cells.
Applications:Suitable for use in ELISA and Immunohistochemistry.
Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:ELISA: 1:2000-1:5000Immunohistochemistry: 1:50-1:200Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Store at -20°C.
Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
