MTP18 (mitochondrial 18kD protein), also known as HSPC242, is a 166aa protein essential for cell viability.
MTP18 may also have a role in maintaining the integrity of the mitochondrial network.
Localized to the mitochonrion, expression of MTP18 is regulated by the PI 3-kinase pathway.
Loss of function of MTP18 results in the release of cytochrome c, which subsequently activates the caspase cascade and leads to apoptosis.
Applications:Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry.
Other applications not tested.

Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Store at -20°C.
Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
