This gene encodes proteins related to the first discovered blood group system, ABO.
Which allele is present in an individual determines the blood group.
The O blood group is caused by a deletion of guanine-258 near the N-terminus of the protein which results in a frameshift and translation of an almost entirely different protein.
Individuals with the A, B, and AB alleles express glycosyltransferase activities that convert the H antigen into the A or B antigen.
Other minor alleles have been found for this gene.
Applications:Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry.

Recommended Dilution:Western Blot: 1:500-1:2000Immunohistochemistry: 1:50-1:200Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Store at -20°C.
Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
