S1 is an NAD-dependent ADP-ribosyltransferase, which plays a crucial role in the pathogenesis of B.pertussis causing disruption of normal host cellular regulation.
It catalyzes the ADP-ribosylation of a cysteine in the alpha subunit of host heterotrimeric G proteins.
In the absence of G proteins it also catalyzes the cleavage of NAD+ into ADP-ribose and nicotinamide.
It irreversibly uncouples the G-alpha GTP-binding proteins from their membrane receptors.
Applications:Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot.
Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilutions:Western Blot: 2ug/mlOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Store at -20°C.
Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
