Synucleins are small, soluble proteins expressed primarily in neural tissue and in certain tumors.
The family includes three known proteins: alpha-synuclein, beta-synuclein, and gamma-synuclein.
The alpha- and beta-synuclein proteins are found primarily in brain tissue, where they are seen mainly in presynaptic terminals.
The gamma-synuclein protein is found primarily in the peripheral nervous system and retina, but its expression in breast tumors is a marker for tumor progression.
Applications:Suitable for use in ELISA and Immunohistochemistry.
Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:Western Blot: 2-4ug/ml for 2 hours at RT (reported)
Immunohistochemistry (Formalin/paraffin): 1:200 for 30 min at RT.
Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires boiling tissue sections in 10mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0 for 10-20 min followed by cooling at RT for 20 min.
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Positive Control:Brain
Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
For long-term storage, store at -20°C.
Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
