A novel protein ESDN (endothelial and smooth muscle cell-derived neuropilin-like molecule) is a type-I transmembrane protein with the longest cleavable secretory signal sequence among eukaryotes.
It is expressed in various tissues; particularly highly expressed in cultured vascular smooth muscle cells.
