MaxLight™ 750 is a new Near IR stable dye conjugate comparable to DyLight™750, Alexa Fluor™700 and offers better labeling efficiency, brighter imaging and increased immunodetection.
Following its characterization as an activated oncogene (based on its ability to transform normal fibroblasts) Met was characterized as the receptor for hepatocyte growth factor.
The c-Met receptor is a disulfide bonded heterodimer consisting of an ~50kD extracellular a-chain and an ~145kD b-chain with a cytoplasmic tyrosine kinase domain.
Both chains are derived from a single precursor protein by proteolytic cleavage.
c-Met is expressed in a wide variety of adult and embryonic tissues.
It transmits biological responses including mitogenesis, morphogenesis and anti-apoptotic activity elicited by HGF.
Dysregulated c-Met gene expression is observed in a variety of human carcinomas and sarcomas.
c-Met also mediates the movement and invasiveness of neoplastic cells and promotes metastasis.
Recently, transcription of the c-Met gene was suggested to be a target for regulation by p53.
