• Desmosomes are cell-cell junctions between epithelial, myocardial, and certain other cell types.
• This protein is a calcium-binding transmembrane glycoprotein component of desmosomes in vertebrate epithelial cells.
• Currently, three desmoglein subfamily members have been identified and all are members of the cadherin cell adhesion molecule superfamily.
• These desmoglein gene family members are located in a cluster on chromosome 18.
• This second family member is expressed in colon, colon carcinoma, and other simple and stratified epithelial-derived cell lines.
• Mutations in the DSG2 gene have been associated with arrhythmogenic right ventricular dysplasia, familial, 10.
• Applications:Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, and Flow Cytometry (Not Tested).
• Other applications not tested.
• Recommended Dilution:Western Blot: 1:50-1:100ELISA: 1:1,000Flow Cytometry (Not Tested): 1:10-1:50Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
• Storage and Stability:Store product at 4°C if to be used immediately within two weeks.
• For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20°C.
• Aliquots are stable at -20°C for 12 months after receipt.
• Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use.
• Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
• Caution: FITC conjugates are sensitive to light.
• For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
• Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
