IKKA, also known as conserved helix-loop-helix ubiquitous kinase (CHUK) or IKBKA, is a protein kinase that in humans is encoded by the CHUK gene.
It is mapped to 10q24.31.
This gene encodes a member of the serine/threonine protein kinase family.
The encoded protein, a component of a cytokine-activated protein complex that is an inhibitor of the essential transcription factor NF-kappa-B complex, phosphorylates sites that trigger the degradation of the inhibitor via the ubiquination pathway, thereby activating the transcription factor.
IKKA is part of the IkB kinase complex that plays an important role in regulating the NF-kB transcription factor.
However, IKKA also has many additional cellular targets, and is thought to function independently of the NF-kB pathway to regulate epidermal differentiation.
Applications:Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry.
Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:Western Blot: 0.1-0.5ug/ml, the detection limit is ~0.2ng/lane under reducing conditions
Immunohistochemistry (paraffin): 0.5-1ug/ml, boiling the paraffin sections in 10mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0, for 20 mins is required for the staining of formalin/paraffin sections

Storage and Stability:Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C.
Stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C.
Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Store at -20°C.
Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
