Beta Amyloid, also called Ab or Abeta, denotes peptides of aa36-43 that are crucially involved in Alzheimer's disease as the main component of the amyloid plaques found in the brains of Alzheimer patients.
It is mapped to 19q13.12.
Several potential activities have been discovered for beta Amyloid, including activation of kinase enzymes, functioning as atranscription factor, and anti-microbial activity (potentially associated with beta Amyloid's pro-inflammatory activity).
Moreover, monomeric beta Amyloid is indicated to protect neurons by quenching metal-inducible oxygen radical generation and thereby inhibiting neurotoxicity.
Applications:Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry.
Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:Western Blot: 0.1-0.5ug/ml, the detection limit is ~0.25ng/lane under reducing conditions
Immunohistochemistry (paraffin): 0.5-1ug/ml, boiling the paraffin sections in 10mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0, for 20 mins is required for the staining of formalin/paraffin sections

Storage and Stability:Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C.
Stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C.
Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Store at -20°C.
Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
