The iron regulatory proteins IRP1 and IRP2 are involved in posttranscriptional regulation of cellular iron metabolism by binding to mRNA iron-responsive elements (IREs).
IRPs respond to stress mediators, iron concentration and signaling factors, including nitrogen monoxide, cytokines and hydrogen peroxide.
IRP-1 is a bifunctional soluble protein that functions as an IRE-binding protein or as the cytoplasmic isoform of aconitase.
Applications:Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunoprecipitation.
Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:Western Blot: 1:2000Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C.
Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Store at -20°C.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
