• Water is a critical component of all living cells.
• Interestingly, tissue membranes show a great degree of water permeability.
• Mammalian red cells, renal proximal tubules, and descending thin limb of Henle are extraordinarily permeable to water.
• Water crosses hydrophobic plasma membranes either by simple diffusion or through a facilitative transport mechanism mediated by special protein "aquaporin".
• Aquaporin, are integral membrane proteins from a larger family of major intrinsic proteins (MIP) that form pores in the membrane of biological cells.
• Over the last decade, genes for several members of the aquaporin family have been cloned, expressed, and their distribution studied in many tissues.
• Aquaporin 1 (APQ1) is a 28kD integral membrane protein which was originally identified in red blood cells and renal proximal tubules.
• AQP1 is also expressed by the choroid plexus and various other tissues.
• Applications:Suitable for use in FLISA, Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry.
• Other applications not tested.
• Recommended Dilutions: Optimal dilution determined by the researcher.
• Storage and Stability:Store product at 4°C in the dark.
• DO NOT FREEZE! Stable at 4°C for 12 months after receipt as an undiluted liquid.
• Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use.
• Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
• Caution: MaxLight™650 conjugates are sensitive to light.
• For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap.
• Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
