PKCe is a member of the novel protein kinase C family of serine/threonine kinases.
Its activity is calcium-independent and phospholipid-dependent and is expressed at low levels in normal tissue except the brain, where expression is higher.
PKCe expression appears to be induced by interferon-a and its over-expression may play a role in tumorigenesis.
PKCe, through its regulatory domain, can induce immature neurite-like processes via a mechanism that appears to be of importance for neurite outgrowth during neuronal differentiation.
Applications:Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation and Immunohistochemistry.
Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilutions:Western Blot: 0.5-2ug/ml detects PKCe in Jurkat cell lysate.
Jurkat cell lysate was resolved by electrophoresis, transferred to nitrocellulose and probed with P9103-20C PKCe (0.5ug/ml).
Proteins were visualized using a goat anti-rabbit secondary antibody conjugated to HRP and a chemiluminescence detection system.
Optimal dilutions to be determined by researcher.
Included Positive Antigen Control: (J9000)Jurkat cell lysate.
DO NOT FREEZE! Stable at 4°C for 12 months after receipt as an undiluted liquid.
Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use.
Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap.
Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
