MaxLight™650 is a new Far-IR stable dye conjugate comparable to Alexa Fluor™647, DyLight™649, Cy5™ and offers better labeling efficiency, brighter imaging and increased immunodetection.
The Ku heterodimer comprised of Ku70 and Ku80 subunits is an ATP-dependent DNA helicase II (Lupus Ku autoantigen), involved in nonhomologous end-joining (NHEJ) in mammalian cells.
It also plays an important role in V (D) J recombination, apoptosis, telomere fusion, and double-strand break repair, thus contributing to genomic stability.
It recruits a 465kD DNA-dependent protein kinase catalytic subunit (DNA-PK) to the DNA double-strand break sites stimulating the DNA-PK kinase activity.
Ku70 is the 70kD subunit of the Ku heterodimer that is mainly responsible for the DNA binding activity.
It contains two DNA-binding domains, one is located at the N terminus before residue 440, and the other one is located at the C terminus.
The DNA binding activity of the C-terminal DNA-binding domain is independent of the heterodimer formation with Ku80, whereas the DNA binding activity of the N-terminal domain of Ku70 depends on heterodimer formation with Ku80.
It interacts with Bax and blocks the mitochondrial translocation of Bax.
Large amounts of autoantibodies to Ku70 are observed in patients suffering form systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and related disorders.
Applications:Suitable for use in Western Blot.

Storage and Stability:Store product at 4°C in the dark.
DO NOT FREEZE! Stable at 4°C for 12 months after receipt as an undiluted liquid.
Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use.
Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap.
