Thrombospondin-2 (THBS2) is a protein that in humans is encoded by the THBS2 gene.
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the thrombospondin family.
The THBS2 is mapped to 6q27 and it is located on chromosome 17.
The gene was transcribed in fibroblasts, smooth muscle cells, and an osteosarcoma cell line.
It functions as a protein inhibitor of tumor growth and angiogenesis and modulates the cell surface properties of mesenchymal cells and be involved in cell adhesion and migration.
Applications:Suitable for use in ELISA.
Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and store at -20°C.
Aliquots are stable for 12 months at -20°C.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
FITC conjugates are sensitive to light.
