Enolase is a glycolytic enzyme catalyzing the reaction pathway between 2 phospho glycerate and phosphoenol pyruvate.
In mammals, enolase molecules are dimers composed of three distinct subunits (alpha, beta and gamma).
The alpha subunit is expressed in most tissues and the beta subunit only in muscle.
The gamma subunit is expressed primarily in neurons, in normal and in neoplastic neuroendocrine cells.
NSE (neuron specific enolase) is found in elevated concentrations in plasma and certain neoplasias.
These include pediatric neuroblastoma and small cell lung cancer.
Coexpression of NSE and chromogranin A is common in neuroendocrine neoplasms.

Storage and Stability:Store product at 4°C if to be used immediately within two weeks.
For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20°C.
Aliquots are stable at -20°C for 12 months after receipt.
Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use.
Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Note: Sodium azide is a potent inhibitor of peroxidase and should not be added to HRP conjugates.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
