E Cadherin (CDH1) is a classical cadherin from the cadherin superfamily.
It is a calcium dependent cell-cell adhesion glycoprotein composed of five extracellular cadherin repeats, a transmembrane region and a highly conserved cytoplasmic tail.
Mutations in this gene are correlated with gastric, breast, colorectal, thyroid and ovarian cancer.
Loss of function is thought to contribute to progression in cancer by increasing proliferation, invasion, and/or metastasis.
The ectodomain of this protein mediates bacterial adhesion to mammalian cells and the cytoplasmic domain is required for internalization.
Identified transcript variants arise from mutation at consensus splice sites.
Applications:Suitable for use in Western Blot.

Storage and Stability:Store product at 4°C if to be used immediately within two weeks.
For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20°C.
Aliquots are stable at -20°C for 12 months after receipt.
Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use.
Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Note: Sodium azide is a potent inhibitor of peroxidase and should not be added to HRP conjugates.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
