STYX belongs to the protein-tyrosine phosphatase family, Non-receptor class subfamily.
It contains one tyrosine-protein phosphatase domain and is a probable pseudophosphatase.
It has a Gly residue instead of a conserved Cys residue in the dsPTPase catalytic loop which renders it catalytically inactive as a phosphatase.
The binding pocket is however sufficiently preserved to bind phosphorylated substrates, and may be protect them from phosphatases.
STYX seems to play a role in spermiogenesis.
Applications:Suitable for use in Western Blot.
Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilutions:Western Blot: 1:1000-1:2000; Band is observed at ~25.5kD using STYX-transfected 293T lysateOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:Store product at 4°C if to be used immediately within two weeks.
For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20°C.
Aliquots are stable at -20°C for 12 months after receipt.
Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use.
Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Caution: FITC conjugates are sensitive to light.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
