IRAK1, an IRAK type protein kinase, is a signal transducer for the immune response Toll-like receptor and interleukin-1 (IL-1) receptor signaling cascades.
IRAK1 is recruited to the IL-1 receptor, phosphorylated and progressively degraded in response to IL-1 induction.
The protein also has the ability to autophosphorylate.
IRAK1 is immediately downstream of the MyD88 adapter protein and immediately upstream of TRAF6.
IRAK1 (-/-) mice have impaired responses to interleukin-18.
At least two mRNA transcript variants have been identified - 2 and 3.6kb.
Applications:Suitable for use in Western Blot.
Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilutions:Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:Store product at 4°C if to be used immediately within two weeks.
For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20°C.
Aliquots are stable at -20°C for 12 months after receipt.
Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use.
Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
