Alpha1-Microglobulin is strongly associated with a yellow-brown chromophore of unknown structure and about half the plasma alpha1-Microglobulin is convalently linked to monomeric IgA.
The plasma concentration range is 20-100mg/L.
The function is not known.
It has been implicated in immunoregulation and through its translation as a diprotein with bikunin it is associated with proteolysis inhibition.
Elevated levels are associated with renal disorders and abnormalities of the renal tubules, elevated plasma IgA.
Sub-normal levels are associated with HIV-infection, some liver dysfunctions and decreased plasma IgA.
Applications:Suitable for use in Western Blot.
Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
