• SLC27A1 (Solute carrier family 27 member 1) is involved in translocation of long-chain fatty acids (LFCA) across the plasma membrane.
• SLC27A1 may act directly as a bona fide transporter, or alternatively, in a cytoplasmic or membrane-associated multimeric protein complex to trap and draw fatty acids towards accumulation.
• It also plays a pivotal role in regulating available LFCA substrates from exogenous sources in tissues undergoing high levels of beta-oxidation or triglyceride synthesis and may be involved in regulation of cholesterol metabolism.
• Applications:Suitable for use in Western Blot.

• Storage and Stability:Store product at 4°C if to be used immediately within two weeks.
• For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20°C.
• Aliquots are stable at -20°C for 12 months after receipt.
• Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use.
• Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.  For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
