CREB is a transcription factor which binds to cyclic AMP response elements (CRE's), and is induced by phosphoyrlation on the part of PKA, CaM K IV, and other protein kinases.
Activated CREB will dimerize, bind to DNA, and recruit histone acetyl transferases.
