ZFP36L3 (zincfinger protein 36, C3H type-like 3) is a 725 amino acid membrane protein that isspecifically expressed in placenta and extraembryonictissues.
Containing two C3H1-type zincfingers, ZFP36L3 plays a role in promoting deadenylation and degradation of target mRNAs by binding to the AU-rich element (ARE) in the 3'-UTR.
ZFP36L3 is encoded by a gene located onmouse chromosome X A5.
