Pancreatic amylase is a digestive enzyme with a molecular weight of approximately 56kD secreted by the pancreas.
Amylases are secreted proteins that hydrolyze 1,4-alpha-glucoside bonds in oligosaccharides and polysaccharides, and thus catalyze the first step in digestion of dietary starch and glycogen.
The human genome has a cluster of several amylase genes that are expressed at high levels in either salivary gland or pancreas.
This gene encodes an amylase isoenzyme produced by the pancreatic gland.
Applications:Suitable for use in Immunoelectrophoresis and Western Blot.
Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:Western Blot: 1:8000.
Strong reaction to 0.15-0.30ug of antigen
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:Store product at 4°C if to be used immediately within two weeks.
For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20°C.
Aliquots are stable at -20°C for 12 months after receipt.
Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use.
Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Note: Sodium azide is a potent inhibitor of peroxidase and should not be added to HRP conjugates.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
