Listeria are Gram-positive bacilli and are widespread in the environment.
It can be found in soil, dust, mud, vegetation, silage, sewage and most animals.
It has been found in 5% or more of normal healthy people, usually in the gut.
It has the unusual characteristic of being able to grow, albeit slowly, at temperatures as low as 0°C.
There are several different subtypes of L.
monocytogenes (the main cause of disease) and L.
innocua, which is very similar but apparently do not cause disease in man.
Applications:Suitable for use in ELISA.
Other applications not tested
Recommended Dilution:Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:Store product at 4°C if to be used immediately within two weeks.
For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20°C.
Aliquots are stable at -20°C for 12 months after receipt.
Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use.
Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
